Ben: "I don't have much. Yeah, there's not really a whole lot going on - I mean, from a governmental perspective."
T-Shirts: Making DGH into a playground, Lukas as a toddler. Or a guy on a zombie giraffe. There's some progress being made! One color, no slogan on the back (preferably). ETA on a design is 2 weeks at the latest.
The lounge and the kitchen are disasters. I can't believe that we have to tell people to clean up after themselves. Are we in college? I could have sworn we were adults already. Maybe we can move a trash can to the lounge from one of the trash rooms (have to coordinate with building staff on this one) or move the can from the kitchen out into the lounge?
Again, clean up after yourselves. Please.
Maybe we should have a house first-aid kit? There's one at the front desk, and Dan and Anna have one that you can use upon request.
7th floor handicapped stall has been coated in blood for the longest time. C'mon, guys, at least dispose of the bodies in the trash room.
Sanitary disposal bins and things are in girls' bathrooms already. Yay SCRH-W council!
Karaoke? If Janotta doesn't do it, SCRH-W and SCRH-E councils might take it up.
IHC reports in: people should fill out the dining hall survey. Printing, Housenet, transportation, SCC issues should be reported to them if people are having major problems.
Transportation at the University is in a transition state. There's been a few administrative changes, so they're still trying to figure out what works best for students. If you have suggestions, please send them to bus@uchicago.edu!
Dan&Anna will sell candy for Halloween starting soon! Kids will be coming around on Halloween to trick or treat in the dorm, so now would be the time start practicing that Thriller dance.
The Midwest Workers' Association is coming to house meeting tonight to talk about being a not-union.
Condom talk Wednesday at study break. Hopefully it'll be afterwards, not beforehand.
We have to figure out some way to keep the kitchen clean and organised. Fridge locks are probably out of the question. The cabinets will be labeled later this week so hopefully it'll be easier to find things from now on!
Birthday pixies are doing a fantastic job. There's been talk of using car markers to write on the exterior windows facing north in the lounge to announce people's birthdays. Too bad Joel isn't around to grace us with his Triforce and glock masterpieces.
Men of DelGiorno calendar: Officially proposed, rapidly derailed and vetoed by (name redacted). And I was looking forward to seeing Ben's beauteous bod this November, too. Maybe we could do something else for a fundraiser - smash tournament, etc?

House Minutes - October 18th, 2009
Ben is setting up a T-shirt committee to work on getting that done. Sarah and Evan and Aaron are on it - going to commission one more person. Simple, one color (two maybe) but no crazy pictures or colors. Target price should be ~$10-12.
Poker tournament is a thing. And it's going to be happening. Tex and John are on it, and should have something ready for next week's meeting.
Doorstops? Not at the dollar store, for certain. Neelam 'doesn't know how much bricks cost' but suggests that they could be used for this purpose. You could even paint it and decorate it! And then sit it on your floor and nobody would ever see it ever again. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
Also if you're drunk don't have your door open.
And now we're talking about prices of bricks. And dead babies. Wonderful, Tex.
Sustainability - Where is our czar? Why don't we have recycling bins on any floor but the 5th? Nobody knows. Maybe we should label one of the trash cans as 'recycling', though this wouldn't stop housekeeping from just tossing it out in the trash.
Housing office is having a leadership summit - catered dinner from 4-6pm in BJ; meet with other house councils and talk about policy, ideas. Fri Nov 6th. Free food! Suddenly Aaron and Neelam are very interested and RSVPd.
There's been nothing from PSAC as of yet - even though there's a prospie night on the 26th of October coming up.
Peer Health Educators - Apparently we can't get anymore condoms until we have someone at a house meeting talk to us about safe sex! Maybe during our house study break this Weds? Hopefully Neha won't mind too much (or maybe we could push it back?)
Signs will be up soon for birthdays, and hopefully it'll be more organised from now on. How are we celebrating summer birthdays? Apparently we'll do "winter break and summer birthdays" all at once in one big batch. Sarah and Jen are on it.
We should have our associate members all give a speech at a house meeting to introduce themselves. Greg and Joel are already here tonight as is Mike, so expect a hilarious house meeting tonight.
The RMs might be going to go see Young Frankenstein soon - if they don't, it'll be a house trip so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Crystal called the Addams family today. Someone needs to make sure she's taking her meds from now on.
$14.50 for student seats (during the workweek), $20 for the normally $25 seats. $38, $52, and $150 and up are the upper price tiers. If we get house / HARC funding then we'll probably get good seats at a heavily discounted rate. We need >= 20 people for this. They're closing the December seats soon, so we need to get people signed up soon! This is probably happening in the last two weeks of November - 17th is the prospective date, and we'll be taking $5 deposits for that.
Nobody knows what HARC will be like with splitting SCRH-W/E.
Anna: "HARC sponsors that one trip, you know, to that meat place..."
Crystal has to get in touch with her 'homeslice dude' from Pierce.
Dan: "Regarding the bathroom situation... We're not going to change anything. It might be hard to do number 1."
The Box is officially dead. Long live The Box.

House Minutes: October 11th, 2009
First house meeting of DelGiorno House is called to order.
Our president's not here. Do better next time, Ben.
On the agenda for next time: T-Shirt ideas, bathroom policy?
In a show of his endless generosity, Dan offers to lead the meeting tonight so Aaron can 'learn the ropes'. And he has lots of that. Rawr.
House Budget: $451 at the moment, $350 after our expenses so far.
Study break funding allocation: Sam suggests $20 until we have a fundraiser, most people agree that $5 more won't give people incentive to make better study breaks. $30 is too much, apparently. Proposal that $5 extra to the standard $20 be made available upon request and justification.
Jen is late. Much embarrassment ensues. Let her know if you have any issues for IHC to discuss!
SCRH-W Council is looking for an extra (first-year) representative from each house! We'll start voting for the candidates soon, so watch your email for that. DelGiorno House also has 3/8 of the current spots on the council, so expect massive funding allocations our way soon.
IM sports: we missed today's football game because we were short on a girl player; if we miss one more, we'll be disqualified. Time to start trolling around the 8th floor.
Tex is making a powerpoint of the rules for IM football. Apparently the organizer takes his job way too seriously. We have more signups than any year in the past!
Condoms: You can expect 15 minute talk about condoms and safe sex with a peer health rep at a house meeting soon.
Dan wants to put the condom jar in the single-user bathroom. Tex has to gently remind him that sex is a multiple-user activity.
Condoms will be moved to the kitchen from now on, for privacy reasons. Thanks, Spencer!
House Kitchen: The idea of regularly restocking the kitchen with common supplies is brought up, and Sam wants to be able to rent out a cabinet in the kitchen. Aleks's plan to host medium-size cooking events is discussed, and is on the agenda for next week.
Tex is going to organise a trip to see Jet at the House of Blues next Tuesday. House subsidies?
T-shirt committee this year. Let's not repeat last year's fiasco! Spencer's got the connections. Maybe good ol' Bernie would be willing to pitch in a little?
